So, for those who've been doing this race for a while, what should we expect from organizers tomorrow in terms of the weather?
Will they postpone? Cancel? Cancel a portion of race?
The weather looks certifiably awful around race time. As of 10 a.m. this morning (Saturday), Weather Channel is showing torrential downpours starting, you guessed it, right around 7 a.m. (calling for 1 to 3 inches of rain) and continuing through 11 or noon. Then tapering to "thundershowers."
The race folks keep sending out updates saying, "We might cancel a portion of the race. We reserve the right to postpone or cancel altogether. We'll decide race morning."
A. I'd really like to not get up at 4:30 a.m., drive to the race site and wait until noon for the race to start with 6+ hours since eating a bowl of oatmeal.
B. I drove 11 hours from Ohio yesterday and would really like to race, conditions be damned. This was my lone "A" race this year, I'm tapered and ... ugh. Well, I know there's 800+ other folks feeling much like I do, I'm sure. Just wondering if anyone out there who's local has a sense of how organizers will handle and if they have the flexibility to postpone till, say, 11 or noon when the worst of the weather has passed.
Thoughts on what to expect? Sure would like to race this weekend — a tri, not a du or a 10K :-)

It might be better to post on the west. triathlon forum to get info from the west. tri organizers. Most of us have not done this race in a long time. |

did they have USAT insurance? I heard thta the people who had the insurace pulled out the day before.
